WORKSHOPS

Practical demonstrations on measuring equipment and real devices

WORKSHOP 1.1. WÜRTH Elektronik: Radiated Emission - How to avoid or limit radiated emission interferences.
Workshop: radiated disturbances: various prevention methods.

There will be a short theoretical introduction about shielding components, core materials of various components used for filtration, and then a practical problem of the device (demobox) that generates the above-mentioned interferences:

  1. solutions to be applied on the cable (cable ferrites: various core materials and their impact on the level emitted interferences in various bands), there will also be several tips & tricks of using ferrites
  2. we will also demonstrate how to fight radiated disturbances at the level of the device’s housing. What components are available here, how to apply them correctly in the device to get the most effective solutions. Here the component application very often works in an incorrect way, which makes them ineffective. We will show the most common mistakes made by the constructors of devices.
  3. In addition, we will also demonstrate the fight against interference at the PCB level, we will present the appropriate components, e.g. special cores of compensated coils, particularly effective in the high frequency range, and interesting broadband cores.

WORKSHOP 1.2. EMC ACADEMY - SCHEME AND LAYOUT - ELECTRONIC EQUIPMENT FOR EMC
Demonstration on educational PCB as high frequency current flows depending on the layout.

In addition, we will recall the resonant nature of components in a specific configuration (e.g. capacitors).

Inductance in examples and impact on emission results and field immunity.

Efficiency of filtering elements depending on PCB layout.

WORKSHOP 1.3. product complience - how to find requirements?

How many requirements are in one product. Different directives, standards.

MEMORIES FROM PREVIOUS CONFERENCE

There were three main parts of each day of Conference: case studies, discussion panels and thematic workshops. During the case studies, the experts, based on real projects, talked about the encountered problems and how they have been resolved. The discussion panel allowed for the common development of solutions to problems with EMC, where participants could share their experiences in smaller groups,. Practical workshops have made it possible to explore the secrets associated with the subject of risk assessment in the aspect of the EU Directives of the New and Global Approach; issues of full – compliance and pre – compliance as well as design principles of power supplies.
